Welcome to Weston-super-Mare your all-year-round family coastal destination. We’ve got great sandy beaches, events all-year round such as our famous carnival and motorbike Weston Beach Race, an amazing live music and comedy scene, fantastic walks and a huge gallery of stunning street art – as well as Banksy’s pinwheel!

Beaches

We’ve got amazing beaches including Uphill Beach which has amassed more than 23 million views on Tik Tok!  It has been crowned the best dog walking beach in the UK by Parkdean Resorts. We’ve also got our fabulous main beach with its donkeys, a dedicated safe sandy swimming beach at Marine Lake and a small rocky beach at Anchor Head. There’s also the Windzone area where the Blo-karters, wind and kite surfers have their fun.

Attractions

Weston offers so much whatever the weather.  You mustn’t miss our Grand Pier which is a kaleidoscope of fun with arcade games, dodgems, go-karts, laser challenges and even a ghost train. We’ve got the world’s largest helicopter museum, we’ve got Banksy’s Pinwheel in our super-fun but still educational Weston Museum where you can also try on items of vintage clothing such as a swimming hat similar to the one worn by Weston’s four times Olympic gold medallist Paulo Radmilovic.

If you want to get the adrenaline pumping the Clip ‘n Climb indoor climbing experience has the highest vertical drop slide in the UK and we’ve also got Laser Quest, a bowling alley and indoor and outdoor crazy golf! Meanwhile, Puxton Park, with its animals and rides provides a super day out as does Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm.

We’ve got a massive outdoor gallery of street art so, if you turn the corner, you may find yourself immersed in an underwater scene or be confronted by a giant cockerel looking down at you!

Walking

Weston-super-Mare is the perfect base for a walking holiday. We’ve got great coastal walks you can do straight from your hotel without getting into a car and we’ve got the beautiful Mendip Hills on our doorstep.

Cycling

The town is wrapped by picturesque countryside and surrounded by exciting places to visit by bike. We’ve got leisurely flat rides as well as testing hill climbs in the nearby Mendip Hills or the breath-taking Cheddar Gorge.

Families

Weston-super-Mare makes a great family destination for days out and holidays. We’ve got indoor and outdoor attractions so whatever the weather and whatever your family are into you will always be able to find something to do.

Evenings and Nightlife

Weston has a vibrant night time economy, a big live music scene, two mainstream theatres as well as fringe venues, a lively comedy circuit, a cinema, bowling alley and a big variety of pubs and restaurants.

Weston is a natural playground for sports lovers. Whether you want to have a go at paddle boarding or join the kite surfers on the waves, this corner of Somerset offers you plenty of opportunities to get active including climbing and caving opportunites.

A wide choice of accommodation

There’s a choice of accommodation with hotels, guest houses, B&B’s and self-catering apartments throughout the town, many of which are on the seafront. Many accommodation providers are dog friendly.

All Ages

We’ve got two miles of flat promenade with plenty of benches and seats so you can milk in the view. We’re blessed with parks close to the seafront including Grove Park, which throughout the summer puts on free concerts in the bandstand. There are also monthly social dances in the Winter Gardens Grand Ballroom.

Weston-super-Mare is at the perfect gateway to all the attractions that Somerset offers. You can spend your holiday at the beach and if you want a change, let public transport take the strain to explore the delights of what we think is one of the prettiest English counties.

Clevedon Pier and tree

The picturesque town of Clevedon, pictured above, with its Grade I listed pier is 30 minutes away, the spectacular landscapes and caves of Cheddar Gorge are 12 miles away, the vibrant city of Bristol is within 25 minutes by train. Or venture further afield to many iconic tourist spots including Glastonbury, Wookey Hole, or Wells, all within an hour’s drive.
